Education 286

I though education 286 was a great class, it helped me to learn about how to use technology in the class room. It helped me to learn more about the internet and about how to tools and programs. It helped me to learn more about the internet and the computer and programs on the computer. I thought it was a generally easy, and interesting class. It was fun and I learned a lot. I hope to use the tools and resources I learned in my classroom someday.

course evaluations

I think course evaluations in education, are good because they help the teachers to know what the students think of them and their classes and they help them to work on what the students don't like and what they do like. It allows for students to also see what the students think about the classes and how they like them. I think it is good that these evaluations are online because they are easy for the students to access and they are helpful and more efficient. These are useful in the classroom, because they help the teachers to improve and they allow for teachers to know what the students think.

Using google documents

Google documents, is good because it is basically like using Microsoft word. It is a good alternative, in case some one does not have access to Microsoft word. It is free and it can be accessed by going to google and just going into documents. It has all the same tools as Microsoft word. Google documents, allows you to share your document with other people. You can link their e-mail and this can allow for two people to work on the document at the same time. This can be used in the classroom, and can be very helpful when working with group work. Two students can work on the same project at once and they can both see what the other one is doing. I think google documents is a great tool for the classroom. It is a great way to work in groups and an easy way to use a word processor.

using skype in the classroom

I think skype is a good tool to be used in the classroom, because it can be used to allow students to interact with students from other classrooms and even other schools. It can be used to show how students in other classrooms work and to have students work together on projects and assignments. It allows students to have insight on what other students are doing in their classroom. It is also a great way for students to keep in touch with other students and learn how to work in groups. It can be used like a pen pal, it allows students to see face to face and it also helps them become more technologically advanced. I think skype is a good tool for all classrooms, and I wish I could have used something like this in my classes. I think it is good for all grade levels.

Powerpoint for students

I think all students, starting with middle school should learn how to use and work with power point it can be useful for doing presentations, and they are good learning tools. In almost all of my high school classes I had to use power point for presentations. It is important to know how to use and it is an important learning tool that can be used even in the lower grades. I think it is important for children to use. It is good to learn early because it is a tool even teachers use in the class room for teaching tools. I think power point is a useful tool for teachers and for students.

Excel in the classroom

I think excel is good for teachers to use in the classroom, because it is an easy way of being organized and it allows for them to prepare grade books, study guides, make lists and keep all of their information organized. Excel can especially be used for making grade lists, and grade books. Excel is easy to use and I think it should be used in all schools. Many schools, now even have their grade books online, this could help teachers to have their grades already organized before they put them online. I think Excel is also good for students to use, it is good for making charts and always staying organized. It is important for students to use excel, because it is beneficial for staying organized. It can be used to do homework assignments, I think both students and teachers should use excel in the classroom and for teaching methods.

Search directories

I think, although search directories are often said to have better and more reliable information than search engines, I feel search engines are better tools for finding information. They come up with more, and better results. In almost all of the research I have done, I have used search engines and they have always been efficient and they have always worked well for me. From what I know about directories, they seem to have less results. However, I do think it is a good idea to monitor the information you are using in the search engines. It is good to use web sites that end in: .edu, and .gov they are education and government sites and the information is almost always reliable. This is how I usually get my information and I think it is the best alternative for getting information off of the internet,

digital cameras in the classroom

I think digital cameras in the classroom are important for technology in the classroom, because digital images are important tools for students interacting between one another. Digital cameras and the use of digital images, can help teachers because it can allows for comparisons. It allows students to get used to taking pictures and relating them to the world around them and to education. Digital pictures and videos, are an important part of our future and it is important for students to learn about them and how to use them. Digital images can be used in all subjects. They are important tools for writing. They can be used in school newspapers, and newsletters and they can be used in reports and assignments. They can be used in science, while preparing labs and they can be used in social studies by taking pictures of historical events and landmarks and using them in presentations and projects. Digital pictures can also be used in art. I think they are important on all grade levels, and they enhance the learning experience for all students.

Using Fireworks

I think using fireworks, is good to know because there are going to be times when you are using pictures in your classroom, and it is good to know how to work with the programs and how to edit pictures and work with them. I think fireworks is fun to work with and it is easy to learn. It is a good way of putting pictures together and organiazing information into charts and putting them together. Fireworks is a good program to use when you want to make collages of pictures. Teachers can use this in the classroom to make collages, and use them for teaching. An example would be, if you were teaching you class about animals you could take pictures of animals and put them together and use the text feature to tell what each animal is. Fireworks is a good tool for teaching and it can be used in the classroom in many ways for all grade levels.

I think copyright information, is very important because it allows writers, and educators to know what is right and wrong when it comes to using the work of others authors. It is important to know about copyright in the class room, because there are rules that need to be followed when it comes to using books websites poems songs and any literary works in the classroom.
I am glad to be getting this information, so when I am a teacher i will be able to use the information to know what is needed when I am using literary work in my classroom. I think it is important to learn about copy right in ed tech. Copy Right is not only used in the classroom, it is a good topic to know about overall because it is used in all fields of work and study and it is good for general information and knowlege about literacy in the modern world.

what I think about blogs and wikis

I am new to using blogs, and wikis but I think they are generally a good idea, not only do they allow teachers to know what students are thinking about a class and about the topics discussed in the class but they allow students to interact with each other and post information about topics and events. I think Wikis and blogs are new ways of posting information, they are easy acessable, free and good ways to know what is going on in a class. I do feel however, wikis and blogs are more of opinion related and should not be used for research. This may be the case in some situations, but I do not think it is right in all cases.
Blogs can also be used in many ways, they can be used both for personal information and to provide news. Some people use blogs as online diaries, and others use them for teaching mechanisms, such as Education 286. We can use blogs in this class, to find out more information about the class and the topics we are studying and to talk with other students taking the class and hear important feedback and information on what we are learning. Blogs are also good for the teacher, it lets the teacher know what students think about the issues and topics discussed in class.
Wikis can be used to post research you have done about a particular topic that you want to share with others. Wikis can be used as online databases. Wikis can be used to link websites and share direct information and researd with others. When using wikis for certain research it is important to make sure the source is reliable and the research is cited. We can use wikis in Education 286 to post further research about information we have learned and used in the classroom.

technology and education

I think technolgy should be used as much as possible in the classrooms at all school levels, it is important because the world today is growing more and more in technology and it is important that it is brought into the cirriculum at an early age. I think teachers who incorporate technology into the classroom, will enhance better learning conditions for students and allow for them to be better set for the future and in touch with the world around them.
I think there are many ways to use technology in the classrooms, teachers can incorperate techhnology into their lesson plans and work with students to better understand the world around them. Teachers can use the internet to find, poems, images, stories, and to provide examples for overall learning.
I think ed tech is important, because we are learning how to incorperate technolgy not only into the classroom when we get a job but it also will teach us to use our skills of computers and technology to better help us get a job and it will enable us to think about technolgy and how we can use it to help with our future.
